    The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is currently seeking to fill a Director of Safety & Training position. The DTA is an award-winning transit agency that provides safe, convenient, and affordable public transit service (fixed route and paratransit) within the Twin Ports of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI and its surrounding areas. We transport just under 3 million passengers annually by way of our 75+ bus fleet and we employ approximately 160 team members. Duluth is a beautiful port city located on the scenic shores of Lake Superior where 4-seasons outdoor adventure and arts/entertainment abound.

    We are looking for a proven leader who possesses an abundance of relevant safety & training management and transportation industry knowledge and experience. The ideal candidate also brings outstanding communication skills to be utilized in effectively interacting with all organizational stakeholders, including the DTAs public Board of Directors and senior leadership team.

    The Director of Safety & Training plays a critical role in ensuring the continued safety of all DTA stakeholders, reports directly to the General Manager, and works closely with all DTA team members, including senior leadership. Minimum qualifications include: bachelors degree in business administration, management or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years safety & training management and relevant staff supervision experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    This is responsible administrative, managerial, supervisory and technical work in directing the personnel, activities, and functions of the Transit Maintenance Unit, both directly and through front line supervisors. Under the general supervision of the Transit Service Manager, the employee must exercise considerable judgment and discretion in directing the effective procurement, maintenance and repair of transit vehicles and mechanical equipment, and the buildings and grounds facilities and transit system.

This is an advanced level professional, supervisory position responsible for Metro Transit’s technology initiatives through planning, development, coordination, implementation and operation of diverse automated information systems and services. This position will integrate new technology and software applications in accordance with City technology standards and policies; as well as manage vendor, interagency and peer relationships. The position also involves soliciting, procuring, and directing vendors and consultants that serve Metro Transit technology needs.

    Green Bay Metro is seeking an Operations Supervisor to assist with planning, coordinating and managing the transit operations. Operations Supervisors supervise dispatchers and bus operators, monitor the on-street performance of all buses, assist with changes to bus routes and schedules, and conduct training.

    Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Management or a related field highly desirable.
    • 1-3 years closely related experience in public administration, transportation, business management, etc. 
    • Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record. A Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within 6-months. 

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday. Shift rotates on a monthly basis; 5:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Every third week, a Monday is scheduled off and a Saturday is worked. Plus additional hours as required including various times for Packer game day routes.

    Hiring Range: $59,300-$61,027
